Saint Laurent

Founded in 1961, Yves Saint Laurent was the first couture house to introduce, in 1966, the concept of luxury prêt-à-porter with a collection called “Saint Laurent Rive Gauche”, synonymous with youth and freedom. This shift represented a first critical step in the modernization of fashion and revolutionized the socio-cultural landscape.

Throughout the years, the House’s groundbreaking styles have become iconic cultural and artistic references, and its founder, the couturier Yves Saint Laurent, secured a reputation as one of the twentieth century’s foremost designers.

Part of the Kering Group, the House kept true to its identity of absolute modernity and fashion authority. Under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello, appointed in April 2016, the House offers today a broad range of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear products, leather goods, shoes, jewellery and eyewear, under the “Saint Laurent Paris” logo. Through a license agreement, it is also a major force in fragrances and cosmetics.

Saint Laurent’s vision of timeless sophistication inspires the season’s frames playing with stylish shapes and luminous textures. The brand’s icons are reinterpreted in the shield constructions featuring a metal front layered under a nylon monolens and thin temples with acetate tips and the Saint Laurent logo. Semimatte and shiny effects add further appeal to the unique designs. The round silhouettes in thick acetate are smartened with a sleek faceted finish on the front, while a touch of retro flair exudes from the feminine oversize sunglasses with a prominent brow bar and metal-trimmed lenses - all tailored with the signature corner angles and saint laurent engraved temples. The house’s iconic corner angle detail also distinguish the bold rectangular frame and the easy round design in acetate, echoing the liberated, nonconformist spirit of the beat generation.
The evolution of classic 11 includes an amplified sunglass frame in subtle metal, tailored with an acetate double bridge and a double Saint Laurent logo on the top bar and on the right-wearing lens. Main elegance meets lightness in the soft square optical styles with an innovative construction. fashioned with thin, flexible profiles, frames have slim temples finished with acetate tips and the saint laurent engraved signature.
